We want to make sure that all children get the best education possible which is why attending school every day is so important.
Western Australian Education Act (the Act) stipulates that all school-aged children must go attend school every day that the school is open.
Each school is required to keep accurate attendance records for all its students. This includes taking attendance in the morning and afternoon for students in Kindergarten to Year 6.
Developing the habit of going to school every day is vital so children do not miss out on important ideas and skills they need for future learning.
That missing half a day of school each week, equates to one month of missed learning each year.
How to Report an Absence
The Act states that the reason for absences must be explained within three days of the absence. An unexplained absence will prompt the sending of an email requesting an explanation.
Parents/carers are asked to notify the school when their child has been, or will be, absent from school.
Our automatic SMS software will send a text message if your child is not present in either the morning or the aftenoon session. Please advise us prior to 9.30am to avoid this.
Reporting an absence to the school can be done:
If you are having diffiulties in informing us of absences or an explanation of one, please contact the office.
