Breaking News. The rare and endangered Drop Bear has been sighted high in trees near the Edgewater Primary School oval. Usually found only on the east coast and central Australia, the Perth Zoo will capture the bear family later today. The area has been roped off. They do not attack children.
Drop Bears, related to the koala bear, is a large, aboreal, predatory marsupial that is around the size of a leopard or very large dog.
The family of three drop bears, mother bear, father bear and baby bear, have been sighted high in trees near the gardener's shed on the school oval. The area has been cordoned off until members of the Perth Zoo arrive to capture them safely as they drop from the trees.
Teachers will be patrolling the area at recess and lunch time to ensure that once the bears drop out of the trees, they climb straight back up again.
