Bushfire Awareness

Edgewater Primary School has been placed on the Bushfire Zone Register  with a risk rating of moderate. In addition to mitigating the risk to our buildings, we have prepared a Standalone bushfire plan to be used if the school is threatened by a bushfire.

Parents, staff and students are bushfire aware through the following activities.

• Bushfire awareness messages in the newsletter during Term 4 and Terms 1 & 2 of the following year.
• Bushfire awareness week is held at the end of Term 3 where students participate in bushfire activities designed and delivered by class teachers.
• Evacuation to a safer alternative building on the school site practices during the bushfire season.
